i’d like to suggest we introduce a Pitchup Superfan badge
i’d like to suggest we introduce a Pitchup Superfan badge and dedicated email audience for our most loyal customers.
The idea came from seeing people on Facebook proudly sharing that they’d been recognised as our pages' “Top Fan/Rising fan”. It made me think: we have customers who regularly book, review and engage with Pitchup, why not recognise them?
There’s also a wider trend towards travel brands creating “insider clubs” for their most loyal customers, as highlighted in this recent Times article ( https://www.thetimes.com/travel/inspiration/comment-inspiration/travel-firms-are-launching-insiders-clubs-but-are-they-worth-it-p6v7wxdfw). It feels like an opportunity for us to explore a similar idea, but in a way that’s particularly suited to Pitchup.
It’s a relatively quick and low-cost way to make customers feel seen, valued and part of the Pitchup community. We could give Superfans a badge on their profile/reviews, which they can potentially share socially, giving extra weight to the reviews that have the superfan badge.
We could also create a mailchimp email audience. That audience could receive early access to new sites, exclusive offers, personalised recommendations and content, making them feel like Pitchup insiders.
For us, there’s a clear commercial opportunity too: more repeat bookings, more reviews, stronger social proof, greater customer loyalty and highly targeted emails that should be more relevant and therefore more likely to convert. It could also turn our most engaged customers into brand advocates.
It’s something we could test relatively easily and measure, comparing Superfan engagement, bookings and reviews against our wider customer base.
Making our best customers feel special could create a much stronger sense of community and give us a valuable, highly engaged audience to market to.
