Review Scoring - Ask for justification for score(s) given
When users are giving scores about various camp-sites, they are asked to score in the relevant areas: Overall, Location, Value for money, Quality of Accommodation, Facilities/Activities, Customer Service, Child Friendliness, Cleanliness and WiFi.
When campers are giving these scores, they should be asked to give the reasons behind their score. This would help site owners to constantly improve their facilities and services they offer. For example, if an individual has had a good stay on which ever site they have stayed on, they could leave good scores (i.e. 9 or 10) for all areas. This does not, however, allow the…

Enter an ETA that is compulsory
Is there any way we can encourage customers to tell us their estimated
Please could you add a compulsory time of arrival (ETA) because when we receive the booking from you I still have to ring them up or send an email to ask them their ETA. I know you have it on your system but customers do not seem to be filling it in. Can you help at all?

Show Loo of the Year Awards on listings
A very important consideration is cleanliness and facilities in the amenity block so this would be a useful award to show

Amendment: New balance payment link for the new amount after amendments.
Currently, if you cancel the balance payment (to update it with extras/amendments), you lose the option to send a new balance payment link for the new amount. So the system is currently disjointed because there is no easy way to record amendments and take payments. This is a problem as when you have busy check in days with 60 or 70 groups coming in, all the info needs to be on the check-in reports which isn't if amendments are made and there is no way of seeing if amendments have been paid for.

Booking multiple pitches in one booking
I mention this one every year and it loses you business. We get loads of multi pitch, group bookings. They don't want to have to book each pitch separately and you lose the business to Campsites.co.uk who allow you to book multiple pitches under one booking.

Distinguish between tents and trailer tents in your filters.
Because of our ground we can have trailer tents but not tents. This is very confusing when a customer selects tents on the filter and our site comes up, only for it to say not suitable for tents in the description.

Review Scoring - Areas are ambiguous
Quality of Accommodation - What does this mean? If someone stays in a site owned static caravan, for example, is the person is rating the caravan itself? Or the whole site, which would surely fall under 'Overall'. if someone was staying in a tent, what would they then be rating?
Maybe a little message shown to the user when they are reviewing to remind them what they are actually scoring for that particular section.
Also, if a site does not advertise to offer a WiFi connection, then a rating should not be allowed to be given, a N/A rating would…

Enable owners to charge their accidental damage deposit online as part of the booking process
With the huge growth in pre-erected units and huts etc it would make sense to be able to take these deposits at the time of booking and not upon arrival. People expect this to happen up front and it avoids awkward discussions upon arrival as well as unneccesary administration in a busy reception
1 voteWe would need to consider carefully the refund mechanism and also that Pitchup.com wouldn’t have visibility of the criteria. In the event of a dispute it would need to be clear that Pitchup.com wouldn’t be able to arbitrate. We’ll look into this.

allow for discount codes at checkout.
It would prove helpful when trying to promote our site through social media etc..

Add an "Important to know before arrival" section to the booking confirmation
How about having somewhere where we can enter information that folk will receive on their booking form and therefore stand some chance of them reading it before arrival?
I mean things like: “Please don’t bring your own wood as our young son provides this at a reasonable charge” or “we’ll charge your phone and no cost whilst you’re here”
Thanks
Jules

staff log in with less admin rights?
Hello, is there anyway I can let our staff log in to update just availability? I don't want to give them my login and password in case they accidentally mess something up!

Allow us to add accreditation logos
For example, for tourist board accreditation - especially as there is nowhere to add that we are now have our Verified Accommodation certification from the Welsh Tourist Board (there is no 0-5 scale, it's either verified or it isn't)

PHOTOS - Allow uploaded photos to be "live" or "hidden" to help admin managers
It would save a lot of time & effort if photos in the gallery could have a button to let them be "live" or "hidden".
For example, I was in the middle of uploading photos for a new pitch, when they were deleted by Pitchup as I had not completed the pitch yet (because you can't advertise a photo which you have no availability for & rightly so).
This would save campsite administrators a lot of time and give them more flexibility to test different photos and hopefully increase conversion rates.

Have a booking system to put on our own website?
Or a link option to enable all bookings put through yr site?
1 voteThanks for the suggestion. The link http://www.pitchup.com/campsites/England/South_West/Cornwall/Liskeard/little-upton-boutique-belltents/ will take users to your page but we’re working on something more integrated.

Manual entry to avoid duplication
Sorry about the rush. Need a way of entering information as a booking from a manager to avoid the potential for duplication. We take some bookings direct (apols but that's like) and i'd like a way of putting that info into the system (for record keeping, safety etc). Any thoughts?
Great job guys.
John
1 voteThanks John – we’ll look into this but it’s unlikely we’d be able to build something soon. We do recommend ring-fencing a subset of pitches as our allocation, to avoid double bookings and avoid the need to synchronise other booking channels.
