List the facilities properly, NOT amenities
I've booked several times now. For motorhome owners we need to know . . .
is there water
is there chemical disposal point
is there grey water disposal for motorhomes - it is not like a caravan!
Those things are important to know to select a site. At my last booking there was NO water, NO chemical disposal and NO grey water disposal. Nice site but overpriced without those facilities.1 vote -
Subdivision campfire on ground - use of firepits
There's a huge difference between campfires on the ground and open fires in raised firepits. Many camp owners don't object the latter, they are less harmful and better contained.

Scale up! With customer help!
Pitchup is a great idea, it needs to be bigger though! It needs to be the Booking.com or airbnb of camping.
Suggest you mobilise Pitchup customers to help you scale.
Provide a money off voucher to customers for every campsite they recruit onto Pitchup.
Put together a new section that has a campsite recruitment form in a range of languages that campers can give/send to campsites.
By giving cash back you can encourage people to do a campsite recruitment drive to make their next holiday cheaper.
Replicate the airbnb/uber ratings model, so no-showers are marked down. Giving PitchUp a real…

Dog searching
Dog searches need to be clearer with the option to put down how many dogs you have and find sites that will take that many

Fix payment page booking bug (page refreshes)
There's a JS error in all desktop and mobile browsers. Nobody can book. On pressing 'Book Now' the payment form is shown briefly, then the page redirects to listing. You can stop the form refreshing by pressing <Esc> key quicky, but the ability to enter card details is disabled. Also the page shows 'Your stay is no longer available'
1 voteThanks for the bug report. This is actually for sold-out units only: we are working on a fix for this.

Add a "donations" field to the payment process
We like to give customers the option to donate £1-£5 to the AONB who look after the beutiful landsacpe that surrounds out site and upon which many of of our campers stroll. A simple dropdown box would suffice. Clearly we'd ask you to allow for this post commission calculation!
1 voteGenerally we try to remove fields from the booking form to prevent customers abandoning the booking, but this might work on the confirmation page.

Enable owners to charge their accidental damage deposit online as part of the booking process
With the huge growth in pre-erected units and huts etc it would make sense to be able to take these deposits at the time of booking and not upon arrival. People expect this to happen up front and it avoids awkward discussions upon arrival as well as unneccesary administration in a busy reception
1 voteWe would need to consider carefully the refund mechanism and also that Pitchup.com wouldn’t have visibility of the criteria. In the event of a dispute it would need to be clear that Pitchup.com wouldn’t be able to arbitrate. We’ll look into this.

Please install a "booking amendment" button on the customer portal
an amendment button where customers can simply put in their original booking ID, select extras and then make an additional payment - you are losing out on extra commission by not doing this and the customer satisfaction rate will go even higher!
2 votesThank you for this suggestion. Adding extras is a fairly rare requirement on the whole but we are working on a solution to amend all aspects of the booking, which is unfortunately not a trivial change.

Uninformative error when card is declined
Unable to pay by debit card. Card declined is a rather useless user feedback. Tried multiple times but with this response it is just a game of hit and miss.
I am using my card almost every day for online payments.1 vote -
Have a link where you can pay off some of the holiday before being sent a reminder
A link on your account that allows you to chip away at the full price of the holiday in advance without being asked for money on a set date. Ie pay off £20 her or £40 there a week or fortnight
7 votesThanks for your suggestion. Currently we are working on way to pay in full, but will evaluate this idea later in the year.

Let users know when a site is not legal.
There is a site behind where I live in breach of all planning permission where users go and have no idea! The users I have met are quite appalled that they had no idea. They would have liked to know before booking!
4 votesThank you for your message. Campsites do not necessarily need planning permission to operate however we react to any concerns raised. Without knowing which campsite you are referring to, it is difficult for us to implement your suggestion :-)

Add an "Important to know before arrival" section to the booking confirmation
How about having somewhere where we can enter information that folk will receive on their booking form and therefore stand some chance of them reading it before arrival?
I mean things like: “Please don’t bring your own wood as our young son provides this at a reasonable charge” or “we’ll charge your phone and no cost whilst you’re here”
Thanks
Jules
1 voteThe existing “Notices” field appears prominently on the booking confirmation email and page, as well as on each listing page. Please use the ‘request change’ button if you wish to add anything to this box.

Enable popular locations eg new forest, Peak District
If I type in New Forest or Peak District it doesn't recognise the location. Search should be enabled by popular search entries not limited to counties. Even if there is a way it is not straightforward/user friendly and the best way is through the standard search bar

Enter an ETA that is compulsory
Is there any way we can encourage customers to tell us their estimated
Please could you add a compulsory time of arrival (ETA) because when we receive the booking from you I still have to ring them up or send an email to ask them their ETA. I know you have it on your system but customers do not seem to be filling it in. Can you help at all?

staff log in with less admin rights?
Hello, is there anyway I can let our staff log in to update just availability? I don't want to give them my login and password in case they accidentally mess something up!

Allow us to add accreditation logos
For example, for tourist board accreditation - especially as there is nowhere to add that we are now have our Verified Accommodation certification from the Welsh Tourist Board (there is no 0-5 scale, it's either verified or it isn't)

n checking availability
Put available dates up first
2 votesThanks for your feedback. We already show available dates in calendars within each pitch type on each listing page, and show sites with availability first in search results. Were you having difficulty on the search page or listing page?
